Otter Creek Wilderness

Otter Creek Wilderness is a 20,698 acre Wilderness that lies in a bowl formed by Otter Creek between Shavers Mtn. and McGowan Mtn. The elevation ranges from 1,751 feet where Otter Creek enters the Dry Fork River to 3,912 feet at the mountain top. This picturesque creek is known for its large carved boulders. Red spruce dominates the higher elevation where as the lower elevations are dominated by yellow birch and black cherry. There is considerable amount of rhododendron under story as well as a variety of mosses and lichens. The gallery visually focuses on the water and rock features of this wilderness.
